Bio
Nancy Nishihira is a professional photographer, Okinawan-American singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and multimedia artist based in Metro Detroit.
Nishihira’s work has been exhibited at the Detroit Artists Market and the Museum of New Art and more. Her work is in numerous private collections. She draws inspiration from her background as an Okinawan-American, as well as rocking out, and taking long walks on the beach. She recently sent 500 hand folded origami cranes to Paper Cranes for Japan, a charity that provided relief after the disasters in Japan.
Nishihira is currently working to record every song she has ever written.
Also, she has folded a thousand origami cranes, randomly speaks 3 dialects of Japanese and enjoys drinking bubble tea at 2 AM.
